The Delusions of Mo part 7

Jo was putting scrabbled eggs in a plate when Mo and Stitchy walked into the kitchen.

"Who wants scrabbled eggs?" Jo asked.

"Me!" Everyone said at once and then they all broke out into laughter.

After breakfast and the dishes were put in the dish washer...everyone went to the craft studio.

Jo was working on yet another tablecloth and Mo pulled out his knitting.

Stitchy moved towards Mo and then said she wanted to give it go.  Mo showed her where he was on the pattern and she quickly knitted her first round.  Mo got up and started to go through all the magazines on the bookshelf. He noticed one that was for knitting.

"Oh that one is from a long time ago." Stitchy said as Mo was flipping through the magazine.

"Lot of pretty things in there." Mo smiled.

Jo shook his head without even looking up from his crocheting.

"Mo, when do you think we can take this off the double points and put it on a circular needle?" Stitchy asked holding up the knitting.

"Do you have a twelve inch circular needle?" Mo asked looking around the room for the knitting needles. He felt odd asking that, for he wasn't sure how he knew they would need a twelve inch circular needle, but somehow, he just knew.

Stitchy got up and opened the closet door and showed Mo where all the circular needles were hanging.

Jo said, "All your supplies are in the closet...perfect craft for you Mo!"

Mo frowned at him and then Stitchy said "Jo, there are two lawn chairs in the basement you know!" she smiled at him.

Jo smiled and then bowed his head and kept crocheting.

"Will I ever get to cross stitch again?" Mo asked.

Stitchy looked at Jo and then at Mo. No one said anything for a while. Mo seemed to get depressed and then Stitchy said, "Mo" she took a deep breath and continued,"I don't believe Mr. Mc Floss will let you back up stairs if you cross stitch again."  she made a sad face and then walked over to him and gave him a hug.

"I do understand that you miss him. I do, too.  But we must be strong. He's in a much better place now."  she smiled at him.

Jo looked up and then said, "Do you too really think we'd kill Mr. Cross Stitch?"

"He's alive?" Mo asked in a shrill voice.

"Of course he is Einstein!"  Jo said back and then smiled.

"Well when can we see him?" Stitchy asked.

"You can't." Jo replied.

"Ever?" Mo asked.

"We told him to leave the area and if he ever came back he's be sorry." Jo kept crocheting.

"So what was with the shovel and dirty shoes?" Stitchy asked.

"That was Mr. Mc Flosses idea. He thought if Stitchy thought he was dead, then she'd stop the I want to stitch, I hate to stitch routine she had been doing for awhile that was driving him crazy."   Jo looked up and then went on to add, "and it never helped matters that you Mo always encouraged Stitchy to do projects that were beyond her attention span."

"Hey!" Stitchy shouted out.

"It's true and you know it."  Jo sassed back.

"Well, maybe. "  Stitchy smiled and then kept knitting.

Mo stood there looking at them and then he could hold it in no longer, "What about me?"

"What about you?" Jo asked.

"I loved Mr. Cross Stitch. He was perfect. We could hit the shops and get more stash, we could sit out in the sunshine and....."

Jo cut him off, "Why is it always lolly pops and rainbows with you Mo? Your a grown butt man why can't you act like one for once in your life?" Jo put his crochet down and got up.

"Jo, that was rather harsh." Stitchy jumped in.

Mo stood up and then said, "No, I needed to hear that. I am, after all, here for you Stitchy. I am sorry I was so shellfish. "  Mo held his head down towards his chest.

"What a drama llama!" Jo said and then left the room.

"It's ok Mo.  It's all really my fault. I drug you all over the place in search of the perfect thing to cross stitch...and then I'd box it all up....pull it out and start it all over again. I am really lucky that you never just up and left for good."  she smiled at Mo.

Mo smiled and then kept flipping through the knitting magazine in search of their next project.
