Here's a link to this issue.
I've gotta have this issue. Why? Well it has two stories I want to read about and fingers crossed that they will also include a pattern, too.
What two stories? Oh, so glad you asked. First, it has a story on Herbert Niebling, I hope it does anyhow, it has his name on the cover. He was a dude that designed all these awesome knitted lace designs. The Second is a story about Rose Wilder Lane, who just happens to be Laura Ingalls Wilder's daughter. Apparently, she was a talented knitter in her own right.
I know what you are all thinking, what's the deal with the knitting all of a sudden. I wish I knew, but I don't. I just know that once I started to test knit the doily and now that I am test knitting a shawl, I just can't seem to stop knitting.
Of course I have a passion for knitted lace. I love the soft feel of it, the beautiful patterns...it does something to me, it makes me pause, however brief, and just bask in the beauty of it all.
So if you see a crazy butt chick out there today hovering over the magazine rack, stop and say hi, because it's probably me! Of course, once I get the treasure in my hot little paws, I will rush to the counter to pay and then rush out the door to start devouring my issue right there in my car! I can't tell you how many times I have done that....oh sure people stop and stare, I don't care...I am lost in the moment. They should just be glad I don't bring my knitting needles with me, or else I'd be tempted to cast on....yep, right there in the parking lot!
Wishing you all a day filled with many blessings. :)
