I saw this background and thought it matches perfectly with how I feel! I love the ocean....the sounds of the tides crashing to the shore, the cries of the seagulls as they fly over head. The salty air that fills your lungs with the promise of adventure. Ahhh the sea. Of course, it never hurts to have a sailboat, to drift along and feel the wind and waves carry you to parts unknown. To be still and listen. To replenish your soul.
I am taking a blog break for a short while. I will try to keep up with what you are all doing, but I might not post until next week.
In the mean time, lets play catch up, shall we. :)
I am still working on my doily from the CAL. At first I thought I would just make it a small doily, but I want to keep going until I use up all the Golden Rod yellow thread, and then I will put a green boarder around it and call it a day. I will post a picture of it when I am finished. :)
While I was in Hobby Lobby trying to keep the economy going today, I found this! I fell deeply, madly, hopelessly in love with the An Irish Crochet Butterfly design on page 15. It's Irish crochet and well, you know, since I have parts of me that are Irish (not sure which parts, but I am assured I have them) I love all things Irish and we all know how much I love crochet!
Since I had a 40% coupon burning a hole in my pocket, I thought I might as well do my part to help up lift our economy and make the purchase. I sat right there in the parking lot in my car reading the article about the butterfly.
Did I care that the weirdo guy (who looked a lot like man-boobs from next door) was sitting in his truck watching me the entire time? Nope. I of course, locked my door, and then just kept reading.
Crochet does that to you. You kind of forget about time and space...it's almost like being in the "TARDIS" from Dr. Who! Yeah, I know when you are older than dirt (as I am) you really should give up watching stuff like Dr. Who. I know, but I can't help it. You know how there are parts of me that are Irish, well, apparently there are parts of me that still haven't grown up...and let's face it, at this stage in the race, they never will!
There is also a lovely broomstick lace shawl in this issue of Crochet Traditions Fall 2012. I have never worked broomstick lace, but would like to try. I am sure with the instructions from the magazine and a You Tube video I could figure it out. Keep your crochet hooks crossed out there for me, ok! :)
I hope you all get a chance to get out and enjoy some of the sunshine....because you know, before we even bat an eyelash it will be fall, then winter!
Toddles my friends and I hope you have a wonderful day and weekend, too. :)

Your Irish shines through in your wee bit of the storytellin...I initially started to write because we are kindred souls, I have a love of the sea, and sounds & smells..Fabulous....and then you mentioned the Irish part of you, and I too have Irish parts, not sure which ones...but I got it in me....pretty cool isn't Stitchy?
ReplyDeleteWell, anyhoo, anyjoy your time getting centered at the waters edge, inhale deeple and smell the aroma of the sea, and wiggle your piggys in the sand...Enjoy....I'll be talkin to you when you return don't you know?
Sail away and enjoy every moment!!! Keep your Irish eyes a smilin'! blessings ~ tanna
