Then the stitch hit the fan.....

I am not sure if most of you know this, but this blog started out as a cross stitch blog way back before they started keeping record of time...you know, when the dinosaurs roamed the earth. I rarely keep doing the same thing for long, boredom and I are best friends, don't you know. So I like to change it up a little here and there. For instance, I ran across this. Now before anyone says anything out there, I'd like to confess that yes...I admit it, I love snowmen. Oh, it's not your ordinary let's put one up for Christmas type of thing, nope...it's the insane I have to have them around me all year long type of thing. I blame this on two things. One I grew up where the only thing cold (much less snow) could only be found in your freezer! Two, they are cute. Come on, you know they are...stop frowning, you can admit they are cute, you are after all, among friends.  :)

So after I ran across the magazine, with the snowmen...and realized I probably had the fabric in the craft room (otherwise known as the next place the show taping for  Hoarders will be) I went digging. I had it all put back in the closet, all the yarn is out and about, as always...but the stitchy stuff gets put in the closet when the urge to stitch fades away, usually somewhere around Spring. Oh, did I not mention that I am a seasonal stitcher.

I think once the cold hits, I start to get all confused. You know, to me 50 is freezing, so since I live in the land of frost now, my mind gets a little (hmmmm shall we say foggy?).  So my crochet hook and knitting needles are resting comfortably in the craft room...while I sort through all my stitchy stuff.  Stay tuned...you just never know what you might see here.

Oh, and if anyone out there (I am thinking of you Glor) wants to do a SAL with this adorable snowman picture, just let me know. It does not have to be the entire picture either, I am thinking of doing one of the snowmen and seeing what I think...they would make great ornaments or cards. They are just so cute. I love snowmen, did I happen to mention that? Hmmm. Anywho. I hope you are doing something fun today and that the weather where you are is nice...I will be getting back to my iced tea, sunshades, tanning oil and lawn chair.....ok, so it's a hot coco, an ear flap hat, and a parka, but you get the idea of where my thoughts are.  :)

Wishing you all many stitches of love.

:o) You're so funny Vicki! I did something yesterday I kinda but don't really regret. Went to AC Moore and you know they were having a sale, so what happens when they have a sale?? Moi comes out of the store with yarn that she doesn't even need!! Well, I did need a few, for hair for dolls, since people are going to make me make some more dolls. I am running out of room. I will be right next to you on that hoarding show, I have so much yarn. And thread. lol. I think the stitch hit the fan with me yesterday! xoxo

I used to love to cross-stitch but I liked the 22pt fabric and now I go cross-eyed if I try to do it.

We are expecting 20" of snow over the next 3 days here in Northern Utah. I'd like a bit of sunshine myself.

I love to cross-stitch but the eyes ain't what they used to be. But now that I've discovered 8 count aida and can cross-stitch with yarn, a whole new crafty world has opened to me. :) I still like simple projects though. No way I could cross-stitch like I used to. Crochet is so much easier. Again, I go with the simple patterns. I like to feel a sense of accomplishment.

I don't do cold well! These concrete buildings here don't have insulation so the cold really chills you to the bone. Stay warm and cozy. Best wishes, Tammy

Adorable snowmen! I know what you mean about the stash getting out of hand! My goal for the year (or as long as I can hold out) is to shop from stash, unless I run out of something that I need to finish a project. But, no new charts, kits, etc. as I have more than will be stitched :)
