So after my struggle with my vision issues, and having a chat with my best friend (Hubby) he looks at me and asks, "What do you feel most comfortable doing?" I had to think about that one for about three seconds and said, "Crochet." Then he looks at me and smiles (he's so gosh darn cute when he does that!) and I smiled back and that's that. I am back to crochet again.
I still have my stitch stuff out in the craft room, it has not been banished to the closet yet. But if I am honest with myself, crochet is what I do to relax. I have zero stress when I crochet. Even knitting gives me stress because I am always worried that I will drop a stitch and not be able to figure out how to get it back...none of that happens with crochet. I can figure out my mistakes, correct them and keep going, no stress, no worries. And excuse me, but isn't this hobby thing suppose to be about getting rid of stress and not creating it? Yep, that's what I thought!
Besides when you have enough yarn to open your own yarn shop, you really do need to do some type of hobby that uses it...and of course when it gets used up, you really do have to buy more. I like to think of it as my way of keeping the economy going. We all have to sacrifice in some way...and if buying yarn keeps this great country of ours moving forward, then I proudly add to the stash....is anyone really buying this? Hey, can't blame a girl for trying. :)
Blessings to you all

Amen to all that, sister! It is indeed a happy place to go! And keeping the economy going...yup...I'm right there beside you! Someone showed TWO Rubbermaid bins of yarn today and labeled it as their stash. Really? Two? Oh God, I'm sick...I don't even want to say how many bins I have...but there's nothing I hate more than not having what I want the very minute that I want it! Take today, I'm finishing the border on a blanket and was fretting that I wouldn't have enough to finish - and darned Hobby Lobby gives Sundays off to its employees for time to worship and be with their families. That really does NOT work into my schedule of needs! LOL Seriously...I totally respect them for doing that...but it still leaves me hanging sometimes. One would think that with all the bins I have, I'd have everything I need...but, well...you know how that goes. Hugs to you. My blanket will be making its ta da in the next couple of days. I haven't posted in forever...I'm sure bloggers are disgusted by my lack of participation. Hugs, Annette
I love your line of reasoning! I figure that hobbies aren't illegal or immoral - they may not be inexpensive but 2 out of 3 ain't bad. And it is your civic duty to stimulate the economy - hey I can't do it all by myself - LOL!
Don't you just love when hubby with the cute smile knows just how to make you smile, too?!
Yay for crafty versatility!!
well.my Hubby just got another speending ticket..you know what that means...more thread..besides I always buy my thread from a small mom and pop place somewhere in Nebraska..threadsbylisa..so I guess I am supporting small businesses. Crochet is my thing, but you know that..thread is my friend and a hook is my weapon..now get out of my chair..lol..have a great day
