A mitten we will go, a mitten we will go, hi ho the marry oh a mitten we will go!

As you can see I am making a lot of progress on the mitten. I am doing the right handed mitten first. It took me a while to figure out how to place the thumb sts on a waste thread that made me comfortable. Ok, I know you are sitting on your seats and thinking, helllooo ding bat, you just knit them on a waste thread and then when the mitten is finished you "un-knit" those sts and you have your thumb area. Yes, I get the concept..what I did not like was that you knit 12 sts on a waste thread, then you put them back on the left needle and knit them in pattern, so that means when you "un-knit" your 12 sts you have 24 sts, 12 on top of the waste thread and 12 on the bottom of the waste thread. Being anal retentive and all, I had to put another thread in there...I put a "life-line" thread on the 12 upper and lower sts...yep, it's not called for in the pattern, yep, it's a little over kill...but hey, it allowed me to sleep at night, so let's just leave it at that, shall we. :)

I love this stranded knitting stuff...it reminds me a lot of following a chart for filet crochet. Now I am on the hunt for a snowman mitten pattern. Because we all know my lust, I mean, love for snowmen. :)

Thank you to everyone for your lovely comments and encouragement for the new year. You all make me smile. I have so enjoyed reading your blogs and following along with you on your adventures this past year, and I can't wait to see what new things you all get into this year, too.

So what's on your needles/hooks today?

Wishing you all a lovely day filled with many stitches of love.

Ok..don't knit here, I also have no clue what you are talking about, but with your posts sometimes if I keep reading it all comes together in the end..not this one. I am still saying UH?!!Your mittens I am sure will turn out. All your stuff does. Believe it or not nothing on the hook!! Kind of in a slump..so cleaning out the craft room...I have got to get rid of some thread that I do not use or will not. Hey have a good one.
