There I was happily knitting on my mitten enjoying the sunlight as it reached across the room and fell all over itself onto my sofa. The sky was clear blue, and I was warm and cozy all snugly under an afghan, just knitting away....and then it happened.
That's when I heard it...the call of the hook.
That's when I heard it...the call of the hook.
Oh, it's nothing like the call of the wild. You know, the lion roar on the savanna type of thing. The sound of a ba-zillion wild things running from some other wild thing that is trying to eat it...nope, this is a much more suttle sound. If you aren't careful you will miss it...it's almost a whisper.
Of course the entire time I have been knitting on the mitten I have been thinking of how cool it would look in crochet, but I digress.
I am thinking about starting this cool afghan. It's from a back issue of Crochet Today, August 2008, I think. Or if you want to get it for free, you can go here and it's just sitting there waiting on you to make it. :) I love Red Heart, and this yarn is really soft and yummy.
Usually, this time of year I get into my stitchy mode and want to either cross stitch or needlepoint. I did have a thought or two about that last month, but then I laid down on the sofa and it went away. I have too many yarny things I want to make before I even consider picking up a needle and floss.
We are suppose to get rain tomorrow that is suppose to change over to snow. I hate snow, did I ever tell you that? I love looking at it from the warmth of my house, but hate driving, walking and being in it! Other than that, I love the stuff. :)
Hope where ever you are it's warm, dry and sunny. Wishing you all many stitches of love.

What an interesting pattern on the afghan. I don't think I've seen anything like it before. Hmmm, maybe a smaller version for that elusive baby blanket I need to make?
I just stopped by and yes...grab the hook..I want to see your afghan when completed..you have more stuff going than I do. But then if I have more than 2 going at one time I tend to freak and not get anything done. I was having a hard time with what should have been a fairly easy pattern..I reworked it, I think the pattern was wrong..or never tested. Have a great day and go grab the hook!!
OH MY GOODNESS!! What an awesome afghan in gorgeous colors!! Thanks for enabling, er I mean inspiring me:) Stay warm and have a wonderful cozy knitting/crocheting/needlepointing day!!
Gorgous afghan! (making note to add to to do list here). Perfect for the snowy days tucked inside. No wonder the hook called. Smart little hook. Love having all these projects going. Hey, eventually we'll get them done. Keeps the excitement up with starting new ones. Blessings to you.
That is a pretty blanky! I wish I had more perserverance to finish big things like that. :o)
Leo is doing good! He sends his love. :o)xoxox
What is the secret to getting hooks to speak quietly? Mine yowl like a cat in an alley!
