Now before you all gasp at the totally awesome (yep, valley girl) photography skills that I so lack! Take a little look at the mitten. It's coming along. I forgot to show you the back of the mitten. The first photo is the back, that is where the thumb opening is located. As you can see, my thumb is...well...not exactly what the pattern called for. If I had knitted it like the pattern called for the opening would not be there, it would just be a solid line of red yarn knitted into the pattern. Then I would have had to take out the red yarn and pick up the stitches on top and bottom of the red yarn. That seemed just way to risky for me, so I created "life-lines" to hold the stitches until I can come back to them and knit the thumb. Please, don't anyone tell the mitten police, I am sure there would be some kind of fine or something.
The cold has packed up and moved south leaving behind crystal clear blue skies and just a touch of chill in the air. I love it! I have been sitting by the window soaking in the sun and knitting. I know, it's a hard life, but what can I say. :)
I have joined several groups on Ravelry. 12 mittens in 2012, Christmas Ornament KAL for 2012. Now before anyone starts saying anything, I would just like to say that the 12 mittens in 2012 did not state pairs, so I am figuring if I make 6 pairs, I've made the 12 mittens. I know, that's not what they meant, but hey, you can't blame a girl for trying. :) As far as the Christmas ornaments go, I love making them and have several that are in crochet, but only a few snowflakes that are knitted, so this will be fun and a great learning experience for me, too.
Hope what ever you are up to it's something fun. Wishing you all many stitches of love. :)

Well good morning, Some day I am going to have to find someone who will have the patience to teach me to knit. I keep trying to do it, but for some reasons my hands refuse to work the needles right..they are so used to hooks, and thread. I am working on a doily..haha no suprise there. Putting a treadmill in my craft room today..maybe I can get moving that way, you know walk an hour, crochet a couple more. Have a great day..
Love the pattern!!
You made me think how fun it would be to make mini mittens like this for the tree- could probably even get away with doing only one, it's an ornament, right? THe delicacy of the knitting is SUPERB!
